What is Polyimide Film ?
Polyimide (PI) is a polymer formed by the polymerization of imide monomers, also known as heat-resistant film or high-temperature film. Polyimide possesses excellent heat resistance and is widely used in applications requiring high-temperature resistant organic materials. Polyimide films are ideal materials for circuit board insulation, high-temperature powder coatings, and transformer manufacturing.
Polyimide films exhibit excellent electrical, thermal, physical, and chemical properties over a wide temperature range of -269ºC (-452ºF) to 400ºC (752ºF), making them ideal for electrical insulation applications. Polyimide films can be laminated, metallized, stamped, molded, or adhesively coated. Biaxially oriented polyimide (BOPI) films offer better thickness tolerances and superior physical, chemical, and electrical properties. BOPI films are recommended for applications requiring a balance of excellent performance over a wide temperature range.
